8 by 8 Design History Concept Board Research

The interior design style I' am researching is Empire.  This type of design was started to be used in the 18th century by the Roman Empire. This design is also a design of more straight and simpler designs. Other characsteristics are that it was a very royal style and it may be simple at times but very intricate. Common colors used with this type of interior design is blues, golds, purples, greens and blacks and white. All of these colors used in a vey royal way.

One famous room that was created based on this empire style is Napoleons room at Fontainebleau, which is the picture with the green lounge chair above this.

Victoria Hagan

I partucularly like Victoria Hagan's works of art. She works as the head of her business that is Victoria Hagans Interiors. Her business has been around for more than twenty years. Her most famous years were 2002, 2004, and 2006 because of her great interior designs. In her younger years the first school she did attend was masters school that was a rigorous ride of different things to get her ready for other schools. She also attended Parsons School of Design. She is also entered in the Interior Hall of fame under the top 100.   Victoria's style to me is clean not to busy, she has some modern elements, calming and relaxing and lively at the same time, i also liked her use of certain elements. To herself her style is urban elegance, she likes to use texture, and color. She also likes to start a piece of art with a fresh approach, and she is also open to all periods or eras.

I also like her designs for kitchens and living rooms because the are simple, elegant and not to busy. I also like the colors she uses because they are not too dramatic and are calm and light and give you a sense of relaxation which makes you want to be in the room more. Another thing i like about her designs is that if she does use textures she uses them in unique ways and doesnt not pick to dramatic oines.
